Ermina Apostolaki is a scenographer and visual artist specializing in theatre and film productions and research-based, interdisciplinary performance projects and installations. Her artistic practice explores national identity, collective memory, and tradition, focusing on the female perspective.
She uses symbolism to address various societal issues while examining the physical and theoretical aspects of space. Her academic work and research concentrate on the intersectionality between site-based art and the sociopolitical realm.
She has received scholarships from the Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute (2014), Goethe Institute (2017), Art Department Masterclass (2018) and Vakalo Art and Design College (2017-2019). In 2017, her work for the theatre plays "Don't forget to go home" and "The motherfucker with the hat" was presented in the World Stage Design Exhibition in the category of Emerging Designers.
She is one of the Special Prizes winners of the Arte Laguna Prize 15.
