Fifteen handkerchiefs, representing train stops on immigrant journeys, were embroidered with symbols and texts narrating the "Kofferkinder" (suitcase children) phenomenon. Mothers left their children in Greece to work abroad, creating lasting emotional and social scars.
The performance incorporated live singing of nostalgic songs associated with Greek immigrants, deepening audience engagement. This personal exploration also draws on my family's history, examining how societal and patriarchal pressures shape identity and family structures.
